This tree had been chopped down to a height of about 6 inches and has produced a mass of new top growth. Fortunately the cut had been made at a slight angle and so is not immediately obvious from the front. The wild top growth will need cutting well back and starting again but the image I have in mind is I believe achievable. Incidentally this tree took over an hour in total to dig up, Thanks to Stuart for bouncing up and down on the crowbar and taking over with the saw when I was starting to lose heart. Next update will be when I have cut the growth back and removed some surplus branches.
